Letting Go

Do you have something in your life that you need to let go of? Do you have a past hurt or a past relationship gone wrong that continues to weigh heavily on your mind? Is there a past mistake that continues to replay over and over in your head that is keeping you up at night, tossing and turning, because you just can’t seem to let it go?

What is it, specifically, that is sucking the life out of you? How many hours a day are you thinking about this “thing”, worrying about it, analyzing it and trying to make excuses for it? How much energy is this thing stealing from you on a daily basis?

Ask yourself why you are giving this thing so much attention? Why are you hanging on to it so tightly? Why are you so reluctant to let it go? Why are you letting it control your thoughts, and ultimately your actions and mood? Why are you still holding on to something that no longer serves you? And why have you been so unwilling to live in the present? Why? Why? Why?

Are you holding on to this past hurt, relationship, mistake, (whatever) so you don’t have to face what is currently in front of you? What would your life look like if you let go of this “thing”? If you no longer thought about it and no longer gave it any energy or any attention? How would you feel?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that once you are truly able to let it go, you will feel relieved. You will feel light and free. You will notice a (huge) weight has been lifted. You will feel peaceful, calm, and better overall.

Whatever we decide to focus on is what creates our current reality. If we stay focused on our past, then our past is our present. It’s a vicious cycle. The past is never truly behind us when we are making it a part of our current, everyday lives.

The quality of our lives is based upon the quality of our thoughts, so in order to have better lives we need to have better thoughts. We need to let go of the thoughts and beliefs that hold us back, keep us stuck, and bring us down. We need to let go of the anger, regret, hurt, worry and pain. We need to release it all in order to be free. We need to stop focusing on what didn’t work out and instead, focus on what is working right now, in this moment. What great things are we aspiring to do, who are we aspiring to become, and what are we ultimately contributing? We need to focus on all the good in our lives, while at the same time being cognizant of how we can love others, provide value and be of service.

So, are you ready to do what it takes to feel more alive?

I encourage you to switch your mindset from what didn’t work out, to what is working and what is evolving…at this moment! Focus 100% of your energy on the “Now”. Let go of the past. Do not give it another thought. Not one! It’s done. Drop it. Then take action! And watch your life change dramatically!

Get out there and live fully, love unconditionally and make the most of every day!
